ASHLAND TOWN CENTER BOLSTERS PATRIOTISM WITH

“AN OLD GLORYOUS CELEBRATION”

 

Campaign Kicks-Off with Flag Flying Pledge Drive

 

Ashland, KY (May 25, 2006) - - Shoppers will be seeing red, white and blue as the Ashland Town Center joins hundreds of shopping centers across the nation in kicking-off An Old Gloryous Celebration, promoting patriotism and the American flag.  The campaign launches over Memorial Day weekend with a community pledge drive to raise the flag across America this Flag Day, June 14, and to support our troops/veterans.

An Old Gloryous Celebration 2006 - - a patriotic national effort by the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC) - - is supported by Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and AMVETS (American Veterans), two of the nation’s most prominent veterans organizations.

The community is encouraged to visit the Ashland Town Center this weekend to join in the patriotic festivities.  Shoppers can pledge their support to fly the flag and participants will receive a free stick flag.  During the time frame of May 29^th to June 14^th, all active military and retired military will receive a discount at participating stores.  Stop by the Guest Services center for an updated list of discounts.

“Patriotism is alive at the Ashland Town Center and we are urging the community to come out over the Memorial Day weekend to pledge to fly the flag this Flag Day” said Jaime Bloss, Marketing Director for the Ashland Town Center.  “These simple actions will make a huge impact with a community united for our country.”

The pledge drive will be held through Flag Day when The Ashland Town Center will join other shopping centers across the county for An Old Gloryous Celebration - - a day of patriotic activities in honor of America and U.S. troops and veterans.  “This Flag Day, we will see red, white and blue flown at the Ashland Town Center and throughout the city,” added Bloss.

An Old Gloryous Celebration, a national Flag Day campaign led by the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC), unites communities in a commemoration of patriotism and the American flag. This year more than 500 shopping centers from 15 leading developers are taking part in the program, including Glimcher Realty Trust
