Eighth Annual Magical Night of Giving serves as community fundraiser, shopping and entertainment event

ASHLAND, KentuckyTuesday, November 1, 2005The excitement is growing as the Ashland Town Center gets ready for its Eighth Annual Magical Night of Giving, scheduled for Sunday, November 20 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  This after-hours holiday spectacular generates thousands of dollars for local charitable organizations, and awards thousands of dollars worth of major door prizes to attendees.

“Magical Night of Giving allows us a chance to support a multitude of not-for-profit organizations with one event,” explains General Manager Merri Hurn.  “Each year, it grows bigger and better than the previous year.  It is definitely something that the organizations in the area look forward to.”

Tickets for the event are now available at mall Guest Services or through dozens of charitable organizations throughout the Tri-State.  Tickets are $5 for adults, and children 12 and under can get in free with a ticket-holding adult.  All ticket proceeds will benefit not-for-profit organizations in the local community.  Last year’s Magical Night of Giving generated more than $26,000 for charity, according to the mall.

The mall will shut its doors at 6 p.m. on Sunday and reopen at 7 p.m. for ticket holders.  A list of discounts, entertainment and prizes for Magical Night will be provided in the event program, which will be distributed at the door.  Attendees to this year’s Magical Night of Giving can expect major door prize giveaways again this year, Hurn said.  These include:

Þ     $2,500 cash courtesy of Tri-State Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

Þ     A Florida Vacation courtesy of WLGC.

Þ     A Las Vegas Vacation courtesy of WLGC.

Þ     (2) Tickets to the Daytona 500 courtesy of Kindred Communications.

Þ     Mall shopping spree giveaways valued at $2,000 and $1,500.

Þ     More than 200 other valuable prizes from mall retailers and event sponsors.

Door prize rules are available at Ashland Town Center Guest Services.

Magical Night of Giving will also feature holiday entertainment and music.   Santa will make his first appearance of the season that night with free gifts for the first 200 children who visit him.

Charitable organizations wishing to sell tickets should contact the mall office staff at 606-325-9570 or stop by Ashland Town Center’s mall office.   There is no charge for groups to participate, and the mall is offering a cash incentive to the not-for-profit organization who sells the most tickets.

In addition to the major prize sponsors, a host of other businesses and organizations are sponsoring the Ashland Town Center’s Eighth Annual Magical Night of Giving.  They are as follow:  Clear Channel Radio, Kindred Communications, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Ohio University Southern, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, WLGC and Profitt Chiropractic.
